As I have been a mom for now 18 months, I feel like I have learned that moms come in many different styles if you will. I watch some moms who seem to be so strong. They have 3 kids running around and are able to hold conversations with me while I am constantly checking on Logan out of the corner of my eye. I don’t think it is a secret to my friends and family and maybe some of you who read this blog that motherhood does not come naturally to me. I had a hard time leaving my job at work, I had a hard time accepting that my new reality consisted of cooking and cleaning 3 meals a day, trying to communicate with someone who can’t speak, wiping lots of poo, Continue reading
I apologize I have been so silent lately! As most of you know, my husband and I are expecting baby #2 in September! The first trimester sucked all my energy from me and I was in a constant state of “fog.” I really didn’t have any desire to get on here and write. Also, all of those wonderful goals and plans went out the window. Back to raisin brand in the mornings over here! I hope to get back on track soon. I have been pretty nauseous and the nausea is just now going away. Yay!
Our little ones will be exactly Continue reading
So, it’s no secret that I am pretty obsessed with my little boy. He is quite literally my joy. He is the most precious gift ever given to me. I make no bones about the fact that I will probably be “that” mom. You know, the one swooping in to save him from the bullies, the mean girls pulling his hair, and basically anyone else who hurts my little baby! Have you ever seen “The Goldbergs?” Continue reading
I am not crafty. I am not “pinteresty.” I am not even very creative. So I have been trying to plan Logan’s first birthday party for a while now since I knew I would need time to come up with good ideas. I also have a lot of talented friends, so I hired different people to make goodies for the party!
I came up with the theme simply because “reading/books” is the theme of Logan’s nursery. I knew I could use all the decor in his nursery and that would save me money. However, Continue reading
Logan turns one next week. I have known I wanted to write him a letter for his first birthday for a while. Every time I sit down to do it, the words just don’t seem to flow.
My mom made me a box after my first year of life. Growing up, I was told I wasn’t allowed to open it until I was married. It was so special opening up that box with my mom the night before I was married. In it was a letter my mom had written me. You could see tear stains on it from her tears. So precious, right?
So I carry on the tradition.
Dear Logan, Continue reading
This is a post for all you new dads out there! I just visited a neighbor friend who has a baby about a month old. She was talking about all the normal struggles she was having and it brought me back to those first few weeks as a new mom. I thought about my husband, Nathan, and how crazy he must have thought I was. This made me think to write a post encouraging all you new dads Continue reading
Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to have a boy first. Growing up, I was always jealous of my friends who had older brothers. I am the oldest in my family and while I enjoyed being the oldest, I wanted a big brother. They seemed like so much fun. So as a teenager I would always tell people, Continue reading
